Plymouth Colony

In 1620 a colony named Plymouth was founded.  The people that came and settled in Plymouth were called  Pilgrims.   Pilgrims were also called Puritans.  The reason the Pilgrims came to America and make the town Plymouth was to be free of the Church of England.  John Winthrop was the leader of the Pilgrims when they first came to America.
